Hi there folks. Those of you who know me well will know that my intentions for TechLudd have always been that it should eventually come under the auspices of a larger organisation so that continuation of these types of events would not be solely down to me as I think people enjoy the events and I believe that networking in this space is way too important for events to rely on one individual (however handsome and entertaining he might be… ok kidding!!)

To that end I am delighted to announce, as I am now working with the Digital Media Forum as a project manager to develop an All Island Digital Media Network, that this meetup will find a new home there as part of a wider range of events organised for that network.

These events will be starting very soon and along with other tools to help connect Digital Media companies of various disciplines throughout the island. I will be announcing more details on the Digital Media Island blog over the next few days so please keep an eye there for details.

Running events like this wouldn’t be possible without great companies willing to sponsor them. Thanks a million guys especially to those who helped out at short notice…

Hi there folks. Sorry for having been away for a while I’ve been crazy busy.

Bad news :-(

The normal TechLudd activities will be suspended temporarily for May and June. No disasters or anything I’m just getting Married on June 13th. (The bad news is that the normal run of events is disturbed, not that I’m getting married, smartypants..)
Good News :-)

Don’t worry though I wouldn’t leave you hanging. Instead I’m doing a few one off “mashup events” with some other international brands.

MixLudd | 23rd May

First one on May 23rd for the Microsoft Mix Essentials Event. “MixLudd” will be on after the event at a nearby location to be confirmed. Watch here for the details in the next 24 hours.

CrunchLudd | 26th June

The second is a “TechCrunch and TechLudd mashup” event that will be run in conjunction with one of the largest technology blogs around. TechCrunch will be known to all of you and TechCrunch UK & Ireland editor Mike Butcher will be on hand to meet and mix and write about Irish startups and people in the Web 2.0 and Mobile Space. Possibly a few other interesting folks going to pop in as well. Stay tuned for more details. Mike has announced it on the TechCrunch UK & Ireland blog already. Scooped on an event I’m helping to organise. D’oh!

TechLudd Galway | July

Normal Techluddiness will resume in Galway in July. Hope to see you there…

TechLudd is a total non-event, for starters.

Which means what, exactly?

Total: It embraces whatever you want it to be, no matter who you are.

Non-Event: Like an un-conference. But for events.

For Starters: For entrepreneurs or passionate people starting things in technology, in sport, in business or wherever your start-up interest lies. We’re getting people together for starters and then seeing what comes of it at the next event.

If that’s not quite enough to get you to register, you can find out more about TechLudd.
